Broke the cork on the wine bottle.
That's what I get for opening the first bottle after 11:00 pm and then attempting to open this one around 2:00 am.
Don't judge me! 😉
I decided to stay up late and work on some video editing of surfing videos I capture with my GoPro last year while I was surfing in Indonesia. GoPro editing software is definitely not the best and crashes frequently.
Don't say I was drunk. Well, don't blame my drunkeness for the issues I have with GoPro Studio. The issues still exist when I am totally sober too.
The wine helps me stay calm when dealing with shitty software and shittier editing tools.
The real tragedy though was breaking that cork off in the bottle.
I was definitely inebriated, and knew the the cork screw was not seated properly. The first bottle of wine gave me the confidence to attempt a new technique for opening wine. What that technique was, I have no recollection. All I know for sure is that half way through my attempt the cork cracked and I knew my next glass of wine was that much further from hitting my lips.
As far as tragedy's go, this was a minor one in the big picture of life. Although, last night I had a very different opinion of my predicament. It's a nice part of the ambiance having the wine cork accompany the bottle as you consume its contents. Last night my little corky friend in his broken state seemed to keep looking at me, and asking why? Why? Why, couldn't you just open me the normal way?
It was sad to see that nice little cork get ripped apart. But hey, it was still standing in the way of me being able to pour a glass. So it had to be done.
Luckily, I have a couple wine stoppers in the utensil drawer just for this occasion.
